I have a WD Passport that has been working great for about a year I use it everyday to back my stuff on but this morning I get an error saying “the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error”. I don’t know what that means or even how to fix it, can you help?
Try connecting the drive to another computer and if possible using a different USB cable.
I connected it to another computer and the computer could not reconized the device… there was no device or “f drive” under “computer” to even click on. It was like the WD Passport was never plugged in but it was. plus the light to the WD was on and blinking. I’m starting to think my WD failed… I really need what is on the WD. Please help if you have any more ideas… Thank you
