WD passport Ultra for Mac 5 TB

I bought a WD passport Ultra for Mac 5 TB and when i plug it in its nowhere. I have looked in disc utilities and in finder. I am wondering if its because my operating system is Catalina. On the box it says it is compatible with older systems, but does not say Catalina. What do I do? The light is on on the portable hard drive so I know it is getting power. HELP!
