WD Passport - not working on new laptop

I have just copied all of my data onto my passport (portable ext hard drive). No problems, it all runs smoothly, an I can access all my files.

When I connect it to my new laptop (Lenovo X230) it keeps giving the error message. So I cannot even get it to the WDUnlocker stage.

“The application has encountered an unexpected error and is now exiting”

Any ideas?

Hello,

Try removing the security on the drive before using it on the laptop for the first time. You may also try another USB cable if possible and make sure you are plugging the drive directly to the USB port and not a USB hub.
