WD Passport not reading with my DELL Windows 8

Need help getting my Dell Windows 8 to read my WD Passport. It is OK and active, but it won’t read.

It reads fine on my old computer running with XP and on my husband’s MAC, but not on my laptop.

I’ve read some posts, but nothings so far works for me. It indicates that its corrupt or unreadable.



If the drive is not seen when you connect it to your computer please try:

1- Disconnect the drive from the computer and restart the computer.

2- If the computer is a desktop, connect it on the back USB port (directly to the PC, not through a hub).

3- Make sure you hear the connection sound windows makes when recognizes a USB device.

If it still says it needs to be formatted then try saving the information to another location and then format it using the Windows 8 computer.
