WD Passport for Mac not working

I have two quite elderly (7 years old) WD drives, which still work perfectly I wanted something smaller so bought a new WD Passport for my MacBook Pro in January 2020. Compared to my old drives the new WD is flimsy but it worked the first time I used it. I successfully loaded it with photographs. I tried to used again and it clicked but then was okay. I did load some flies but although I have attempted to access the information it will not do anything. The light is on, I am using a cable I use for other portables, I have tried different USB cables and even bought a new one but its useless. It isn’t about replacing the drive, I wouldn’t have another WD after this, it’s about the loss of all my photographs.

Can anything be done with the drive or is it just more rubbish for the bin?

Hello,

We would recommend you kindly perform a diagnostic test on the drive using WD drive utilities for MAC to determine the optimal health of the drive by using the following link: How to Install and Use WD Security and WD Drive Utilities Features
