WD Passport disconnected while saving, can't access files anymore

Hello,

So I was doing a save on my WD Passport with WD Backup. After an hour, the save had not begun yet, it was still shown to be “in progress”. I thought something had gone wrong so I closed the WD Backup software.

Now, whenever I connect my WD Passport, I can’t access the files anymore. If the drive remains connected, I can’t shut off my computer and Explorer.exe freezes.

It seems the drive is still in “save” mode and won’t let me access it. How can I cancel this mode so I can access my files? I’ve tried redoing a save, it says “saving in progress” but then doesn’t actually do anything. I’ve tried connecting the drive to another computer but it remains blocked.

Is there anything I can do?
