My WD passport 1TB drive was disconnected without using the correct USB eject icon to remove the drive. Now after checking on several portable and desktop PCs the drive powers up (case vibration) - the drive led light is running but the drive is not recognized in the windows 7 environment. I have many months of data on this drive and would like to retreive it.
The drive is probably corrupt. If it shows in Disk Management maybe TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk will fix it.
