WD MyPassport stops backing up at 12%

I’m using my WD MyPassport with Windows 10.
The Passport is recognized alright on a drive.
The Passport begins with “Backup in progress” okay.
The backup stops after 8 hours at 12%.
Please help.

Or I could plug MyPassport in the USB port, bring up Control Panel in Windows 10, under System and Security click on Save backup copies, and there you go.

I knew it was my error all along.
