WD MyCloud.exe stopped working after OS update

The WD MyCloud desktop app has stopped working when accessing remote drives;
Typically when I launch the app and connecting to a remote drive I’m greeted with the security warning popup asking me to accept the certificate and then the connection is established, but after updating to win 10 build 16179 I no longer receive the security popup and no remote connection is established, the app can still connect to NAS drives on the local network however.
I’ve tried reinstalling the software and running in compatibility mode and as administrator with no luck.
Any ideas?
