WD MyCloud Critical Error - Red Light

Hello,

Firstly can you please say that I am aware of threads such as this but they have so far not been of help to me.

I am using a 4Tb My Cloud and under very similar circumstances to the other thread I have received a Critical Error (data volume failed to mount), code error 0004. I have emailed customer support and if it still isn’t fixed I will call them on Monday. I’m not very technically savvy but where possible I do like to try and fix/solve issues myself. I also don’t like registering on a forum simply to ask a tech question hoping that a knowledgable person will be a good samaritan and help me out when we all know I am very likely to disappear as soon as this issue is fixed. It feels cheeky and slighty abusive but I will be genuinley very greatful for any help.

I am using a Mac but have no knowledge of SSH or Linux which are questions that have come up in various other threads I have read. I also do not want to risk my warranty or lose the data on the drive if there is a chance it can still be recovered.

Any suggestions or thoughts are greatly appreciated as restarting, rebooting and powering on and off have all been fruitless.

I am having the exact same issue with a 3TB version I purchased less than 3 months ago. I am not technically savy with Linux either so all of the other forum posts about this issue do me no good. I would prefer to remedy this issue without a lengthy RMA process if possible. Please help.
