WD MyBook Studio 4TB RAID-0 eSATA keeps dropping offline

I have a WD MyBook Studio 4TB with 2x2TB drives in RAID-0 config (4TB total) connected to a ‘server’ running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 via eSATA. Drive works fine most of the time but the machine and drive are on 24x7 (it is a server) and occasionally every few days the drive ‘disappers’ and Windows cannot see it. There is nothing in the event log that I can see. To recover I have to power off the drive and computer, disconnect the drive, wait a minute or two, reconnect the drive, power it up and then boot the computer. As you can imagine for a server this is totally unacceptable. I have had this issue before with other MyBooks connected over eSATA on other machines so I stringly suspect that it is not the PC but rather the MyBook. It is running the latest firmware.

Anyone else seen this problem? Anyone have any solution?

Thanks,  Chris

ChrisJ, maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.
