WD Mybook Essential 3TB disk corruption?!

I got 3 of these drives a couple of days ago. I moved data from 2 x 1.5tb drives to one of the new ones. No problems. A day later, the drive starts to blink the white led all the time, and I cant access the drive in windows. 

After 15 min. in disk management, the drive shows up as a raw disk. The disk is very unresponsive. Im really concerned about all the data.

What to do? Are these drive really this bad.

It sounds like corruption. maybe this will fix it http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk or   http://www.easeus.com/resource/repair-raw-disk.htm
