WD My Passport: WD Virtual CD 0730 USB Device has a driver problem

Hello,

MY WD Passport Essential was working fine on my laptop - ASUS using Windows 7.

Now when I plug it in I get the following error when I trouble shoot it:

WD Virtual CD 0730 USB Device has a driver problem.

Any ideas?

Have you checked if the drive shows on Computer? Can you run the Smartware software or do you get the same error msg?

You can try downloading the  WD SES Drive and see if it works after that.
