WD my passport ultra - password tries

Hi,
I have a WD My Passport Ultra. I used it on the same computer and never need the password. The person who set it up the first time forgot the password ( he is not very sure which is the password).
My question is : How many tries do I have before the hard drive locks?? I have very valuable information on the drive and I don’t want to lose it.

How did you set the password on the drive? Using WD Security?

I assume yes, it wasn’t me who set it up.

Hi shiust,

If you have configured the password using WD Security and you do not remember the password then there is not way to recover the data.The drive will need to be erased before it can be used again.
