WD My Passport Not Registering on MacBook

Hi

I plug in my WD Passport. The light goes on and I can feel whirring in the drive but does not register on the computer. Have tried different cables that I know work and tried the other USB port. Both USB ports work with other equipment.

Any ideas - I’m a technophobe so please use ‘easy’ language!!

Not worried about losing data on the Passport if necessary
