I have a:
WD MyPassport Essentials 500 GB a.k.a WDBAAA5000ABK-00
Well, this hard drive is a bit old but I have important files on it and need to fix it as soon as possible.
So, this hard drive doesn’t get recognized by my Windows 7 64-bit machine, after some research I discovered an error in device manager that says:
This device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not give it the required resources. (Code 29)
I thought that updating the firmware might be a good solution so I downloaded the official firmware updater from the website…
I have ejected all other USB devices except My Passport but the updater still doesn’t detect it.
Any solution?

Even after a lot of checking that it’s correctly connected to the pc, the updater didn’t work.
And yes, I checked the cables and another machine and…
Any solutions? Maybe the driver of it?
