Hi I have installed the my cloud desktop app on win 8 machine and when i open it I get the message “Your MyCloud desktop app is currently locked”. im able to open the same application on my Mac without an issues. I have tried reinstalling the app but didnt get fixed. Appreciate some help in this regard. Thanks.

Since this is happening on a Windows 8 PC I suggest you use the Problem Steps Recorder and record what is taking place, save it and send the results as an attachment to Support when you contact them.
Have you tried to go to control panel> uninstall WD MY Cloud, then reinstalling?
this should wipe out the user data.
Please let me know if this doesn’t work.
