WD My Cloud 2TB virgin disk image

For unbricking one may not actually need the same virgin disk image as the size of their My Cloud. There are several threads that detail how to configure a new or replacement drive for use in the My Cloud using a 145MB file called “original_v03.04.01-230.tar.gz”. One such method is explained at this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_6OlQ_H0PxVejVic2ZubXBfbHM/view?pli=1

I made a post, see the following link, that explains the process I used. It is possible such a process can be used to unbrick any sized hard drive on the single bay My Cloud units. Note however the process is for the older v3.x and v4.x My Cloud units. Not sure how one unbricks or replaces the drive on the newer v2.x My Clouds.
