I have a WD My Book Mirror Edition 1TB external HD, and well, it’s full. And knowing it’s a user serviceable external drive, I was wondering if I can take out the old 1TB drives & replace them with WD’s new 3TB Red NAS drives? One at a time of course. Thanks in advance!
I don’t believe you can change the drive size from the original ones.

I just replaced the 1TB drives in my mirror book with some 2TB green drives I had laying around. So far so good. The RAID manager does detect the difference in drive size. Formatting now…
Edit: I didn’t care about saving the data on my device and did mine both drives at once.
