WD My Book fails self test

WD My Book fails self test and WD tech support says it is finished, to order a new one. This My Book is not that old, one T storage. Is this typical of WD products?

What is the model number of your drive? if it is still under warranty you can get it replaced by contacting WD Tech Support or by creating a RMA oline.
