I have an issue with my My Book Essential 2tb external drive. model number WDBACW0020HBK-01. The issue is that when I plug in the power supply to this drive, it automatically turns on, blinking light (1 second blink), and does not show up on computer. I looked at other website forums and a guide online says that the 1 second blinking light is overheat and needs to cool down. Not sure If it was the same model the guide was talking about, but I gave it 1-2 hours to cooldown, but is still doing the same issue. This started about two months ago. I left it alone and then decided to give it a try, it worked, but only for about 30 minutes and went back to the same blinking. What can I do to fix this, and if anything, retrieve the files I had saved in the device?
