WD My Book Esential Forgoten Password

Hi, i have quite a complicated situation here. My WD My Book Esential 1TB had a password protection placed on it.

When i try to access it after a year of not using it i cant seem to remember my password. I cant afford to delete the data

from the drive or i would’ve already done it. Please i need a way to somehow “factory reset” the disc or atleast the password. It is urgent. I thank you for your time and help in advance.

Edit: i already tried some of the solutions i found on the internet for other WD drives but none of them worked.

Unfortunately, the password can not bypassed once set and the hard drive can not undergo a reset without compromising the data. Otherwise the hard drive could not be certified to have a secure encryption system. This is also the reason why the following warning must be acknowledged and accepted before a password is set:

I’d recommend trying to associate the password hint (If provided) with possible answers and double-checking uppercase and lowercase letters as the password is case-sensitive. If retrieval is a concern and the password not not be remembered then I’d recommend contacting a professional/specialized data recovery service company.
