WD My book esata connection on a 64bit win 7 sleeps and can't wake up

Hi,

My WD My book studio 2T drive connects to a 64bit win 7 PC thru esata sleeps when  the drive idle for a while. However it can’t be waken up and the drive  disappears even rescan from the control panel.:mansad: I have also enabled AHCI in the bios and disabled the the Harddisk slept mode in the win 7 power configuration. How can I fix it? Do I need to upgrade the firmware of the drive? How can I check the current firmware version of the drive?:robotsad:

Many thanks in advance!

You can try updating the drivers for the eSATA controller.

To check the drives firmware you can go to the Smartware settings tab and check under drive settings.
