We’ve had the My Book 1130 for a while now and it worked perfectly up until a few days ago. It shows up in Device Manager but not in Disk Management. It will pop up in my computer for a second, long enough for me to see that it says “Local disk” with a big red ? next to it. Tried updating firmware, software and drives, uninstalled and reinstalled the drives. It seems that it connects and reconnects every 5-10 min but like i said it only shows for a second or two. I’ve ran some scans and it’s recognized but has error messages. Even my Norton IS recognizes the drive but as a “local drive” and it doesn’t scan any of the files. Any help would be appreciated!
You can try using HD Tune or Data Lifeguard Diagnostics to test the drive
test with a different cable and/or computer
