Hi, I have recently purchased a WD TV Live and updated to 1.05.04V. I have a Synology DS111 and have a selection of movies and tv shows that I have re-coded using Handbrake. I was watching a movie last night and the WD logo would randomly appear blanking out the picture. The movie was still playing as the audio was still playing and when I pressed any button on the remote it would wake the screen up the logo would disappear and the movie picture would be there still playing. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a screen saver mode that needs to be disabled? Many Thanks.
Hmm. I haven’t seen anyone else report this, but what you’re describing is the SCREEN SAVER activating during a stream.
The simplest workaround is to disable the screen saver, which is done via the SETUP menus.

I have once, several months and versions ago, had a similar problem. After a long pause (using the || button) and resuming the movie it kept starting the screensaver after a couple of minutes. I suppose some flag in the SW got out of sync.
Anyway, nothing helped until I powercycled the device (removing power cable for more than a few seconds). Haven’t seen this problem again.
