I have a WD Live with a wired connection to my router. Firmware is up to date (1.06.43_V). It has a WD 3.5" 2TB as well as a WD 2.5" 1TB connected to it, full of movies and series. I’ve had the media player for more than 3 years now and all of a sudden, these past few days, it has gotten painfully slow. For example, I press pause during a series or movie and it still plays for more than 5 seconds! When I scroll through episodes I have to wait for it to respond and click ‘play’ but sometimes it’s still catching up and plays the wrong episode.
I am very loyal to WD and even have a 4TB MyCloud so I’m really hoping there’s something I can do to fix the problem. Is it a caching thing and has the internal cache just become too full? How do I clear the cache if that’s a problem. I really like the WD brand and quality so I sincerely hope this issue can be fixed.
