Wd live the video is scrambled with hdmi

hi

     my wd live the  video is scrambled with hdmi  connection but woks fine with rca plugs

i have tried to reset to factory reset  no succuss and loaded  the new firmware   any ideas ???

With the HDMI connection, there is handshaking going on between your TV and the WD Live that tells the WD box what video resolutions/frequencies that your TV supports. With some TVs, the handshaking does not work and the video gets set to something that your TV does not support.

When you have it working with the composite output (RCA plugs), go into the WD setup, choose Audio/Video, manually set the video ouput to HDMI, and then choose a resolution that your TV supports. Then switch your TV back to the HDMI output.
