WD Live Media Streamer - will not output 5.1 or DTS

Hi.

just took delivery of my shiny new WD Live Media Streamer and got it all working just fine, I thought.

However, I have my audio set and connected via SPDIF (Digital Optical Cable) but my amp is only recognising a Dolby ProLogic ll signal instead of DTS or Dolby 5.1 which my .mkv files have encoded / built in.

I understood from the sales blurb, that it handled DTS & 5.1, one of the reasons I bought the unit over the justop Android box.

Is my unit faulty please? or am I doing something wrong?

I think your post is in the wrong forum. This forum is for the 2009 model WDTV Live HD and 2010 model WDTV Live Plus.

Make sure your Audio Output setting is set to “Digital Passthrough via Optical” in the setup menus.
