WD LIVE and WD Elements 2TB problem on play MKV files (infinite wait before start)

Hi,

my WDTV LIVE don’t work fine with my WD Essential 2TB WDBAAU.

It is recognised, I can navigate thru the directory and see the thumbnails of the MKV movie, but when I try to play them

the initial rotating circle before play continue to rotate infinite.

This is the same with firmware 1.02.21 and with the 1.03.35 beta

A strange think: sometime it works for the first movie I start to play, then if I change to another movie, the proble m immediatly start.

Note: the WD 2TB HDD is fully working with Windows 7 PC, for writing and plying the same movie.

Welcome to the forums.

Post the MediaInfo for one of your MKV files that has this problem.

 I think this is not a MKV container problem, because the WDTV LIVE make the same with all the 20 mkv movie on the WD 2TB drive.

Well, the first problem is you’re using the wrong version of MKVMerge for those files.  Use a version at least as old as 4.0 (the alternative is to remux with the version you have but make sure you turn off both video and audio header compression in the track options).
