I just received an WD WDSL00S IcePack drive mount. On the mounting plate are two pads that appear to be thermal transfer pads and a larger foam pad. All three are covered by a plastic film. It does not appear to be meant to be removed but I can not be certain. No documentation accompanies the mount and the WD site provides only a marketing pdf.
Before I place an expensive 2TB SSD on it I’d like to get some definitive answers. Can anyone confirm if the plastic film should remain or go?
