Hi guys!
I have run a boot usb with dlgdiag5.20 and I can test my 2x2TB Black drives but not the 2x2TB green drives…I get missing test tracks error status 0229?
I tried an older version dlgdiag5.04 but the 2TB drives are not supported…
How do I ensure that my drives are OK…other test equipment says no problems…
Just wanted to run WD own test to make sure…
If I understand correcly WD Green don’t work in a raid5 situation?
Is there a way to make them work?

Hi Wd green drive are meant to be used as a storage drive only not even as a boot drive and surely not raid. Get a copy of Hard Disk Sentinel and run it it will give you a report in a few minutes.

Hi no hard disk sentinel runs as a program from windows but it gives a report very fast. As for the black drive in raid 5 this is WD official response .
Desktop drives are not recommended for use in RAID environments. Please consider using WD Red
™ hard drives for home and small office .
That is not to say they wont work but they may cause problems.

I thank you for your help…I have seen so much about software raid 5 working with black drives…just a bit dissapointed after spending a lot of money on drives and they can’t handle raid…
Red drives haven’t been around for long - so I just wonder what drives everyone else is buying…
