Hi, i just bought a WD Gold 10 TB and seems to be working fine
If you listen closely it makes a little noise every 4 seconds without being used. Should i be worried?
So i replaced that drive 2 times already and all of them make the same noise
I ran Quick tests with WD Data Lifeguar on all of them and they all seem fine
WD says ‘Normal drive sounds include’: Occasional drive clicks occurring at 4 or 5 second intervals, and the drive is functioning normally and passes diagnostics. time will tell because i have 5 year warranty
Found someone else who has the same drive and this is how it sounds like
all these drives make the same noises. probably a ‘feature’
