Never had such a nightmare with a hard drive before, hope someone can help.
The drive fails on WD Drive Utilities?
The Drive will open once connected to the mac & you can access the content. however it sometime (very rarely) will transfer copied files back to the mac. Transfer crashes 729.8 MB into 1.04 GB video file - with a message The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “2001.mp4” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)
The files were no corrupt before upload.
If you play a video file it will crash three quarters into it & crash if trying to transfer back to the mac.
- My worry is if I am unable to fix this or not able to transfer the files to another hard drive, I will lose 4 years work.
