WD External Drive Cable/Port problem

It seems the port or the cable has a problem. Device goes on & off if moved even a little. Have to gently jiggle wire but can’t tell where the problem is. P/N is WDBBEP00 1DBBK-1. Can it be fixed?

You can try the below fixes to overcome the issue:

  • Check whether the drive is getting enough power or not.
  • Replace the data cable with the new one and turn on the drive.
  • Try connecting the drive to another port or system.
  • In case the drive still disconnecting again, then there is a high possibility the drive is failing and needs to be replaced.
