Hi all,
I have an external WD harddrive, specs:
- Model Number: WD Ext HDD 1021
- Firmware version: 2021
- Capacity: 2TB.
Since a couple of days the HD is extremely slow in file transferring at about 100 ~ 500 kb/s. It’s faster to download now than to copy :S.
I ran the Data Lifeguard Diagnostics from the WD site: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/940
Result of the tests is that the test itself can’t even succeed. I constantly get the message:
| 06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 04 (Unknown failed test element), Failure Checkpoint = 96 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2! | |

Testing on other laptops/desktops gives the same result.
What is going wrong with my HD ?
I hope somebody has a solution. There is already 1.2 TB of data on it, which I don’t want to lose…
