WD Essentials 2 TB External HDD being turned in to Internal, not recognized

So here is the deal, I have a two TB external WD hard drive. After two years of use I accidently broke the mini USB connector in the back.  So being a techy I decided to pull it out of the external case, strap it up as a regular HDD in my computer.   Ok so, so far so good.  Well I got it in, turned it on and its recognized by Device manager, but its not showing up in Disk Management in the TOP list, but it is showing up as Disk 0 Online in the BOTTOM list as roughly “1800 G\B unallocated”.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and have 200 gigs of data on this thing, mostly un backed up music.

Now I know someone how there has done this… how do I get this thing to recognize as an already formatted internal or external drive…

I know its something simple here, a simple toggle of something.

Thank you for your help.

If this is a drive that came with Smartware the data is hardware encrypted by the board that had the USB connector on it. You can try having a USB port soldered on on or try finding a matching board on ebay or from an identical drive.
