WD Elements suddenly inaccessible after I upgraded to Win 8.1

My portable disk Elements used to work fine, and it still is healthy. I just upgraded to Win 8.1 and now my WD is inaccessible. It’s NTFS. I can see in disk management that it’s healthy. How can I access the drive again? Do I need new drivers or anything else?

Welcome to the Community.

If it is displayed in Disk Management as Healthy, then the hard drive itself is working fine. However, does it list “NTFS” as its file system, or does it say RAW?

If it’s listed as NTFS all it needs is a new drive letter:

If the file system is RAW then the file system was damaged. This can happen when an external hard drive is attached during an operating system upgrade.
