WD Elements SE USB external HD seen as a Bluetooth Peripheral Device

HI. For unknown reasons when I connect a WD Elements USB Disk Drive to USB 2.0 or 3.0 Windows 7 (64) tries to install a Driver for “Bluetooth Peripheral Device”. Obviously it fails. The disk does not appear under My Disks or USB Generic Storage. It can not be accessed by DISKPART.

Curiously if I take the same disk and plug it to a Windows XP PC it works normally.

Thank you for your suggestions on how to recover. I have tried all utilities from WD but none of them work if the HD is not “visible”.

Thank you for your support.

Hi aperezmollo,

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.
