WD Elements read only for OS 10.8.2

Hi–

I recently bought a WD Elements SE 1TB - portable to replace my plug in. I didn’t realize it first but apparently both drives are locked in read only mode. I have the OS 10.8.2 and I’ m not sure how to resolve this. Is there anyway I can unflag the read only status so I can transfer the files from one HD to another?

Your help would be gladly appreciated.
