I have WD Elements portable 2TB drive, I am connecting this drive to an external media player that requires that the drive is always on.
How can i configure the drive so that it is always ON and it does not sleep after some time?

Unlike the WD Passport and WD My Book product family lines, the WD Elements family does not feature a manual sleep-timer override application at this time.
Is WD planning to release an application for that? It is really very annoying…

The best place for a feature request is in the Ideas Exchange section. This way someone from WD will be sure to see it and will allow more users to support your idea.
However, I would first search and make sure that there are no other active Feature Requests suggesting the same or similar improvements. If there is, then you could add your post and vote on it.
