WD Elements Desktop: upgrade harddrive

I have a two year old WD Elements Desktop from which I used the HD urgently in another PC.

I would like to upgrade the WD40EZRX (green) with a higher volumed HD.

One of

  • WESTERN DIGITAL Red, 8.0TB (WD80EFZX) (preferred or waiting for an upcoming green version)
  • WESTERN DIGITAL Green, 6.0TB (WD60EZRX)

Can I upgrade my WD Elements Desktop with one of the above HDs?
Anything to consider when using an 8TB with Windows 7?

Hi, the WD Elements was never designed to be upgraded, and we don’t have any information on how or if this is going to work, hopefully an user that have tried this will be able to provide any information.
