Is it true, WD Elements Desktop [Model: WDBAAU0030HBK-NESN] doesn’t have hardware encryption? (This would be my next drive , if so!)

Elements drives are not encrypted. Elements are a simple plug and play drive. The drives that come with Smartware are encrypted.
