I purchased a WD Elements Basic Portable Drive and there is no pre backing up software installed on the drive. So I downloaded WD Smartware from the WD website and installed it all well and good so far. But I can’t use the software as it is asking for an activation code.
How do I get an activation code?
I have also got a WD Passport but that software won’t recognise the Elements drive which is a shame as I only want to back up my files to the larger 5Tb Elements drive. I do not want to use Cloud Backup.
