my gfs tv wont recognize her hdd on the box i says that the harddrive is compatible with usb 2.0 but her tv still wont recognize it i works on her laptop and her other computer.

Once you connect it to the TV, if it’s a smart TV, it will format it right away and you’ll be able to use it. Keep in mind that if the TV formats it, you will need to reformat it to use it on the computer.
If the TV is not Smart, I doubt it will be recognized. Also, there are hard drives specific for TV use, as these are designed to perform on computer environment.
