My WD element 1 TB is not reading. I bought it long time back and it was working fine. I tried to replace the cable but it is not available anywhere near me. What should i do?
Before you assume it’s dead, plug it into another PC to rule out a port issue, then open Disk Management by right clicking Start and see if the drive shows up there without a letter assigned. A lot of times WD Elements drives are detected but just need a drive letter added. Also try a different USB port on the back of the computer since front ports can underpower external drives.
