I’m new to the forum so hopefully I’m in the right category. I didn’t see expander as an option. I need an external hard drive for my Dish DVR 622 and wanted to know if anyone has experience with the WD expander. I prefer not to buy from Dish since I’ve read about Seagate’s high failure rates. Does the expander have its own power source or would need adapter?

I have not tried this, but i believe the unit does come with its own power adapter, normally My Books, do come with the power adapter, so thi should be the same case.
