WD Drive Utililties does not see my WD SSD (on SATA bus) in OS X

In WD Drive Utililties 2.1.1.69 in OS X 10.13.3, I get “Attach a supported WD drive.” I have a new WD Blue SSD as my boot disk. It works. But this utility does not see it.

WD Drive utilities does not support SSD products. For windows WD has the WD SSD Dashboard however this is not available on Mac. To check the drive health you can use disk utility tool in Mac.

But Disk Utility will just check the file system of the WD SSD — not a very complete health check at all.
