WD discovery, security, and backup: Which is NECESSARY to install?

Hello, I drag and drop my files to the external, I don’t need schedule backup, or make password protected. Also don’t use cloud, don’t have other computers on the network, just my laptop and this one WD drive. Very basic stuff.

I don’t know what these different software do so just want to know which is the basic necessity. thanks alot.
