WD Discovery - Remove password from Auto Unlocked disk

My WD Passport is set to Auto Unlock on my laptop.
I want to remove the password but I can’t remember the previous one.

If I uninstall WD Discover and install again will the disk be locked or can I remove the password this way?

Hi,

Firstly, take out the data from drive. Now erase the drive using WD Security to remove password.

Since the driver is unlocked, is there no other way to remove the password besides erasing it?
