WD disconnects after three days

Hello,

Weird problem. Have had the WD My book 1TB for almost a month now, and keep having a recurring problem.

It stays connected, three days later and it’s missing from My Computer, but the light is steady and on. After taking the power out and putting it back in, it is connected again. Haven’t tried it using the USB, but probably the same thing. Seems like I keep needing to re-connect it every three days (the magic number)

Any ideas? Kind of disappointed with this drive so far.

i have my book 1 TB and it was working well for the past 2 years. suddenly it is not showing in my computer as external drive

sounds like an issue with the usb and hibernation

check the power settings on the device manager for the usb controller

this is more common on firewire but it can also happen on usb
